Tue, 02/05/2008 - 01:14Clear calm morning today - this allowed the remaining 14 competiotors in group 3 to complete the Uknown 2 program. The contest then had a break at 2 hours to allow processing of results and to prepare the jury for the 3nd program looks to be significantly more complex than Unknown 2 - a few Group 3 pilots were found in the foetal position emittiong a high pitched whine following the first walkthrough!
Read as for yesterday - except at 1600 the decicion was taken to fly Group I from 1700 for Unknown 2 prgram. So 14 pilots at the top level took to a perfect sky and provided a great show for the Grups 2 & 3 pilots spectating - hopefully the will get their chance tommorow.
All the pilots briefed at 0100 for the Unknown Prog 2 only for the wind to steadily increase out of contest limits where it remained all day. Coneqently the only thing that flew was the amazing 'Pawnee on viagra' Water bomber - PZL M18, complete with 1000hp radial engine. Several pilots inspected it to worth out how many tow hooks we might fit! Hopefully tommorow....
More great weather this mornig, clear blue sky with a light an-judge wind providing competitors with the ideal canvas on which to paint the unknown 1 program - for pilots 31-38 that did not fly last day.
